Introducing Gift Me It

Hi all! We're very excited to be introducing a project that's been in the works for the last year and a half now. It goes by the name Gift Me It, and the slogan The perfect gift, always.

Gift giving is a widespread social practice which has been shown to strengthen and reinforce relationships. This is usually driven by the demonstration of knowledge and caring about the recipient's needs and desires. Giving gifts has also proven to be an important factor in bringing people closer together and people are accustomed to acknowledging and showing appreciation to their family and friends through exchanging gifts. It's a gesture that's shared by all of human kind in all corners of the Earth. There's something about shiny wrapped up objects that just never gets old. Even when it's in the shape of a pack of socks! Can never have too many pairs of socks right? No? Okay...

The whole gifting process also has the tendency to place pressure upon givers to find something that will please the recipient which is often a challenging process especially due to the increased time pressures associated with modern day life.

Thanks to smartphones and mobile apps, some of these modern day time pressures are alleviated. Mobile apps have gained considerable popularity in recent years due to their ability to support individuals in achieving tasks more easily, efficiently, and effectively, but a complete solution for supporting gifting is seemingly missing.

I had spotted this gap in the market as I very often struggled myself with finding the perfect gift for my loved ones in time with all these time pressures and questioned whether I'm the only one that has this problem. Surely not? Well during the market research, results showed that there were indeed many others who faced the same challenges where respondents were asked given a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being extremely hard) how difficult they find the process of finding gifts for someone, the average response was 7! Some common concerns were as follows:

• Buying a gift that the receiver may not like.
• Buying a gift that is not relevant for a specific situation/occasion.
• Buying a gift that is of poor quality.
• Failing to surprise the receiver.

Here at Gift Me It we have taken it upon ourselves to fill this gap in the market and streamline this process in order to tackle these concerns by delivering a mobile application that will become available soon on your smart devices via the App Store and Google Play Store. This mobile application will contain a collection of products from all over the internet's plethora of online stores and will also have a unique search tool that will find the right product for each individual based on their hobbies, interests, occupation and more. Further details about how this will look and work will be released in due time so watch this space!

In the meantime, this blog has been introduced to bring to you updates on the progress of Gift Me It as well as deliver useful posts with hand picked gift recommendations for upcoming occasions to provide unique ideas with the aim to put a smile on the faces of friends and family.
